As the lockdown continues, the gift industry is rising to the challenge of doing everything it can to cheer people up.
“When we asked customers for a word of positivity to add to our ‘Henrietta Special Reserve 2020’ jar we were overwhelmed with messages,” Sarah Halsall, owner of Hand Picked By Henrietta in Chapel-en-le-Frith, told GiftsandHome.net.
“We received so many words that we had to do something, and decided to hang the words on hearts, and to display them in our shop window. Hopefully the new window display will cheer lots of people up,” Sarah added.
“Now more than ever it’s so important to keep in touch. Making the hearts and including customers words brought us a welcome distraction, creating an ongoing conversation and a connection.”
On the supplier front, Aspin Management Systems gifted several local NHS hospitals with thousands of Crème eggs. Having initially bought them for their customers as an Easter gift, they felt everyone would agree that the NHS would be the ideal recipient during this very difficult period.
The company confirms that they were gratefully received by Southampton, Salisbury and Winchester hospitals, with managing director Nathan Aspin personally distributing the eggs to each of the trusts in early April, receiving huge thanks from NHS representatives.
“We want to thank everyone on the NHS front line, those who selflessly continue their day-to-day duties outside the home in support of us all,” commented Nathan. “We hope that NHS Southampton, Winchester, and Salisbury enjoy their Easter eggs.”
