Spreading Happiness In The Home

Giftware Association member Meg Hawkins Art, founded by watercolour artist Meg four years ago, has been shortlisted in the Midlands Best Rural Business Start Up Category of the Rural Business Awards 2018/19 in recognition of her brand’s intimate relationship with the countryside.

“This means such a lot to me and the whole Meg Hawkins Art team who all work so hard,” says Meg. “Being a rural business in many ways defines our story and our journey to this point.”

Meg, who says her work is “designed to bring life and happiness to a home” highlights her desire to create beautiful pieces that can be used and enjoyed every day, with her work appearing on gifts and homewares as well as on greetings cards and prints. Currently she is busy developing new images and products to include new special edition homewares and gifts.

Her work is licensed by several UK and international licensees and can be seen on a wide range of kitchenware and garden products.

The Rural Business Awards (RBAs), launched in 2014, aim to give recognition to businesses operating across the rural sector, to acknowledge the breadth and depth of opportunity presented by the British countryside, as well as to celebrate the achievements of rural businesses.

The 13 award categories are decided by an independent panel of judges drawn from the rural business sector, official agencies and rural charitable organisations.  The awards take place in October.
