Summer Sourcing Online

For both gift retailers and suppliers looking to source new product, the 12 day Summer Sourcing Weeks/Go Online  – which launched on Monday July 27 and will continue until Friday August 7 – is an advanced virtual exhibition featuring nine Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) trade fairs to include gifts.

The virtual shows, originally scheduled to take place physically by the end of July, feature gifts and premium, as well as houseware, fashion, furnishings, lighting, electronics, information and communications technology (ICT), medical and healthcare, home textiles and printing and packaging, attracting over 1,300 exhibitors.

In addition, an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled business matching service – Click2Match – has been introduced. It also offers functions that include live chat and video meetings, providing an online sourcing and networking experience for buyers and exhibitors.

“Although the Covid-19 pandemic is presenting huge challenges for businesses globally, it also offers the prospect of online business opportunities for enterprises,” commented the HKTDC’s deputy executive director Benjamin Chau.

He continued: “The HKTDC is actively equipping SMEs to embrace the digital economy. In addition to strengthening co-operation with a number of technology partners to provide Hong Kong companies with more cost-effective digital solutions, the interface and functions of our hktdc.com Sourcing online marketplace will be further enhanced and relaunched later this year, utilising a variety of new technologies to improve business matching efficiency.”
