Talking Tables Appoints Daniel Fagan As Managing Director

Talking Tables has appointed Daniel Fagan as managing director in what is a new role for the company as it breaks new ground.

Daniel, previously director of supply chain, has been with the company for 12 years, originally joining as supply chain assistant and working his way up while gaining a thorough insight into the business. He became a director five years ago and in 2022 he steered the company to B Corp status.

Daniel is a familiar figure in the giftware industry, serving on the Giftware Association’s National Committee and taking part in panel discussions at leading UK shows including Top Drawer and Spring Fair, as well as Talking Tables’ own industry co-hosted event with the Giftware Association: Talking Together.

Among Daniel’s most significant achievements at Talking Tables has been building and maintaining a strong and agile supply base, that has seen the company through Covid and freight shipping challenges, enabling it to successfully expand into new categories such as this season’s move into reusable tableware with the launch of the Bon Appetit collection.

Commenting on his new role, Daniel said: “I will be building on what I have been doing but with a wider remit. It’s such an exciting opportunity to expand new categories like reusable tableware, maximise our relationships with our customers and build our international business. I will be working with the team to ensure we’re agile and on the front foot in the face of what is becoming a more complex and unpredictable world, such as utilising new developments in AI.”

He added: “Throughout my time at Talking Tables the founders, Clare Harris and Mark McCormack, have always generously exposed me to areas of the business outside of the supply chain, whether that be attending a trade mission to China or researching the US market. Working so closely with them has helped me understand the business from top to bottom and prepared me for my new role.”

In addition, co-founder Mark McCormack joins Clare Harris as co-ceo, saying that they feel “both excited and proud to see Daniel step up to be managing director. They intend to remain present and supportive, supporting Daniel on the wider growth strategy of Talking Tables.
