Matching the nation’s mood – according to Dulux’s creative director Marianne Shillingford – Spiced Honey is ready and waiting to be unveiled as the Colour of the Year.
Speaking at The Giftware Association’s first educational Trends Talks Day, Marianne, who was the keynote speaker, cited optimism and togetherness as the influencers, with palette colours featuring Dream, Love and Act. “Many of the business here will be able to apply these palettes to their giftware,” Marianne told attendees.
Also speaking to delegates was David Glenwright, from JC Social Media. “One key tip to take away is, don’t try to sell to potential customers. They will come to you if you post interesting relevant topics,” he emphasised.
Covering the current state of retail was Michael Weedon, founder and managing director of exp2, who highlighted how the government can act to change the future of Britain’s high streets, stressing that it’s not all doom and gloom.
The Trends Talks Day, hailed as a success, marked a milestone on The Giftware Association’s calendar as the first educational event held by the Association.
