The Best Of British

The Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate is the venue for next month’s British Craft Trade Fair (BCTF), which runs from April 7-9, showcasing products from hundreds of designer-makers based in Great Britain and Ireland.

“Research from organisations such as Which? and Barclays has shown that the consumer appetite for authentic British products is running at an all time high, as people look to support more local, sustainable businesses and seek beautifully designed products which they know are of sound provenance,” says show organiser Margeret Bunn.

“This research is backed up by the strong anecdotal feedback from retailers visiting the show and followers on our social media sites. If ever there was a time to support our heritage industries and British designer-makers this is it.”

Product categories will include handmade ceramics, porcelain, fashion accessories and jewellery, hand blown glass, metalwork, woodwork, fine art and greeting cards.

The show will again be hosting the BCTF Awards where sponsors include The Giftware Association, sponsors of the Award for Excellence, and DesignGap/ArtGap, who are be sponsoring the Wow Factor Award decided by visitor votes that take place during the show.

Among the seminar speakers this year will be Ian Retallick, founder of Specialist Retailers.
