With the war in Ukraine demonstrating the very worst of humanity over the past 12 days, dominating the news and all our thoughts, it’s been important to celebrate any uplifting moments. And for those gift retailers who heard that they had made it through to the finals of The Greats Awards, it came as very welcome news indeed last week.
“What fantastic news! We have been absolutely buzzing to be have reached The Great Awards 2022 finals here at Keepsake Scotland!” exclaimed Scott Nicol, co-owner of Keepsake Scotland in Inverness, Loch Lomond, Pitlochry and Stirling, a finalist in the Best Specialist Multiple of Gifts category. “The team are over the moon!”
Also celebrating in Scotland was Paper Tiger’s owner Michael Apter, with the shop a finalist in the Best Retailer Initiative category. “This is wonderful, we’ll start spreading the news on our social media,” confirmed Michael, who has two gift and card shops in Edinburgh. “I’ll be at the Greats Awards in May with my fingers tightly crossed for Paper Tiger!”
At House of Cards, finalists in the Best Specialist Multiple Retailer of Gifts category, there were loud cheers too. “What super news!” exclaimed co-owner Miles Robinson. “We’re all so delighted.”
Salford’s RHS Garden Bridgwater retail team leader, Lynne Tudor, concurred: “This is fantastic, we’re so happy to have reached the finals in the Best Garden Centre Retailer of Gifts category.”
