The British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) announced Toy Fair’s Hero Toys on the opening day of show (January 21). The list features 25 products launched at Toy Fair – judged by an independent panel of retailers and the BTHA – to be the most exciting and creative toys unveiled at the event.
Among the winners were Keel Toys’ KeelEco plush range, which includes a turtle, whale and orangutan, Posh Paws International’s Sunny Bunnies Giggle and Hop Boo, and Wild + Wolf’s Ridleys Games Drawsome People.
“With hundreds of companies from all over the world, launching thousands of new toys throughout the show, the competition to make the Toy Fair’s Hero Toys list is fierce, and judging this year was harder than ever,” commented the BTHA’s public relations & events manager Rebecca Deeming.
“The result, however, is a list packed with innovation, fun, and potentially huge sellers for 2020. Together, they represent the best of our industry and the benefits children of all ages get from playing with quality toys.”
Wild + Wolf made its debut at the show this year, with marketing manager Joelle Engolia telling GiftsandHome.net that attending London Toy Fair for the first time has been a significant step for the company to establish both Ridley’s Games as an evergreen games brand, and to further expand the reach of Petit Collage in the UK.
“We’ve made substantial progress in a very short amount of time since our initial AW18 Ridley’s own-IP launch, and exhibiting at Toy Fair has been crucial in continuing that growth by opening doors to new buying avenues for Ridley’s within the toy and games sector,” explained Joelle.
Toy Fair, which closes its doors today (January 23) at London’s Olympia, is the UK’s largest dedicated toy, game and hobby trade exhibition.
